About The Team
We have a few million lines of JavaScript/TypeScript to support, and a ton of important work to do to help the hundreds of engineers who work on that codebase every day — and that’s why we’re hiring. In recent years we’ve migrated our entire codebase to TypeScript, scaled and integrated open source tools (such as pnpm, Rust, and SWC) with Bazel and our monorepo, and provided a common, optimized toolchain to speed up local and CI workflows. We’re often working with abstract syntax trees (ASTs) and codemods to maximize our leverage across the codebase. We upstream our open source fixes back to the community and help steer the direction of our toolchain.
Our roadmap adapts to the needs of the business, and today we are thinking deeply about how to make our codebase feel small and better enable testing across Stripe, including building paved paths for unit testing and Playwright.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for engineers with a strong background in building and owning systems and tools. Most of our team works remotely, and we’d be happy to talk to you about the possibility of working remotely.
As a JavaScript Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll join a team that designs, builds, evolves, and maintains the foundational frontend ecosystem that enables web development at Stripe. Your decisions will have a significant impact on Stripe and on the productivity of Stripe engineers. There’s a lot of work to do to make our language infrastructure even more reliable and powerful than it is today, and we’d love for you to be part of it. Our users are other Stripe engineers, so we constantly get feedback that we can use to make our systems better.

Working remotely at Stripe
A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.
Pay and benefits
The annual US base salary range for this role is $163,100 - $244,700. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
