As a Senior Engineer, he/she will provide leadership and oversight in technical design, systems architecture, and coding for their team and the Engineering team. This role requires someone to be on-call rotation where you will rotate to on-call via round every 4-6 weeks for 1 week. This is the expectation that you will be available 24 hours to take the call anytime when needed in that 1 week. You will be compensated at the going rate per hour for the time the contractor is paged (typically around 0-6 hours).

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Java, SQL, and React, and will migrate the project to a new codebase while following existing features. The Java codebase will be written completely from scratch. The ideal candidate will excel in Java development, with strong proficiency in SQL, and possess a good level of knowledge in React.

Job Responsibilities: Use expert-level Java skills to rewrite a legacy project and migrate it to a new codebaseFollow existing features and functionalities while making necessary improvements and optimizationsCollaborate with team members to ensure seamless integration of the rewritten projectDevelop efficient and performant SQL queries, stored procedures, and database modelsDebug and troubleshoot issues that arise during the migration and development process
