About the RoleAs our first Android Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing the 17V28 experience to the Android platform. This role is particularly focused on building a graphics-intensive app that mirrors the rich, creative features of our existing iOS app. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing complex graphics and photo editing features within the Android environment, ensuring they perform seamlessly for users. Your expertise will be essential in translating our iOS app’s advanced graphics features into the Android ecosystem while maintaining high performance and a smooth user experience.This is a unique opportunity to take full ownership of the Android development process, from initial architecture to deployment on the Google Play Store, with a particular focus on creating a visually stunning and responsive application.

LocationEurope or United Kingdom preferred

Qualifications3+ years of experience in developing Android apps, with a strong portfolio of apps available on the Google Play Store.Extensive experience with Kotlin or Java, with a solid understanding of Android development frameworks and tools.Proficiency with Git and experience with continuous integration and deployment practices.Ability to think critically and provide creative solutions to technical challenges.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.Experience owning projects end-to-end from initial prototypes to customer roll out.Professional experience working on mobile consumer applications.

Nice to HaveExperience in building apps that involve complex graphics, image processing, or photo editing features. Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for graphics-heavy apps.Experience working with Android graphics frameworks and libraries such as OpenGL, Glide, Picasso or Fresco.Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
