We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Android Application Developer to join our team in developing an application for an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in the automotive industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a sophisticated application that will be integrated into an Android SDK platform. The primary development language will be Kotlin, and the role will involve implementing frontend designs provided by our design team. Additionally, the role may require interaction with a Linux platform to handle specific signals.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain an Android application using Kotlin for automotive ECU integration.
Integrate the application into the Android SDK platform.
Implement frontend designs provided by the design team with a focus on responsiveness and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Work with outside data sources and APIs.
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
Interact with a Linux platform to handle specific signals and ensure seamless integration.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and practices.
Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and protocols.
Skills
Must have
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven experience in Android application development using Kotlin and Java.
Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Familiarity with continuous integration.
Experience with UI/UX design principles and implementing frontends based on provided designs.
Basic understanding of Linux systems and experience with handling signals in a Linux environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge of automotive industry standards and protocols (e.g., CAN bus, ISO 26262).
Nice to have
Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.
Experience With Other Mobile Development Frameworks Or Languages.
Knowledge of modern architectural patterns such as MVVM or MVP.
Experience with testing frameworks and writing unit tests.
Understanding of mobile security best practices.
Experience with cloud services and integrations (e.g., Firebase, AWS).
Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools and software.
