Redan LLC is looking for an Assembler Developer to be part of a growing team in the federal sector. As an Assembler Developer, you will be responsible for all aspects of developing Assembler mainframe applications. In this role you will also be working with an Agile team to support back-end mainframe systems and provide interfaces to front-end systems. This means that you will develop Assembler mainframe applications with databases and mainframe systems, providing guidance and sharing best practices regarding Assembler development. Your tasks will include working with development teams and product managers to ideate software solutions, and analyze existing software, incoming business rules and conversion details, producing application requirements and detailed design documents. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills with client stakeholders at all organizational and technical levels and be adaptive to the organization's changing needs. The right candidate must be able to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup by applying interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project goals and demonstrate excellent time management while working in an agile environment, providing technical knowledge and development to the team throughout all agile ceremonies. What You'll Be Doing As an Assembler Developer at Redan, you will: Develop Assembler mainframe applications with Databases and Mainframe systems. Work with Mainframe tools including TSO, JCL, Control-M Demonstrate a broad understanding of the applications and technical architectures related to their area(s). Write effective interfaces to system applications and services. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software and assist in defect resolution. Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications. Profile of Success Required
10 years of Software Development experience. A minimum of 8 years of coding Assembler experience. Strong knowledge of the stored procedures, functions and overall knowledge of Assembler. Active IRS MBI clearance. Experience with mainframe TSO, JCL, Control-M. Hands-on experience with Linux, z/OS, Bash Shell scripting. Hands-on experience with JCL development. Ability to perform code merging activities using source code control systems. Prior experience working on Agile teams. Demonstrated ability to seek out information (proactive learning). Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team. Experience with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint). Nice to have Experience with legacy IRS Masterfile (IMF or BMF) and/or CADE2. Experience with Ansible. Exposure to MongoDB. Understanding and functioning knowledge of RQM.
