Data developer

One of our federal government clients has a requirement to engage experienced Data Developers. They will help lead specialised data transformation projects under the supervision of the 3 AER Data Platform Team, and will work closely with key stakeholders, the Chief Data Strategist and subject matter experts.

Location of work: ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VICWorking arrangements: Hybrid Must be able to obtain Negative Vetting Level 1

The successful applicant will undertake Data Services including:• Data Modelling;• Data Architecture and Reporting, particularly in transforming the Energy markets analytics to the Azure cloud;• gather requirements;• create conceptual, logical, prototype and physical data models; and• support the development and maintenance of the underlying architecture.

The data models will be developed in Azure Analysis Services through Azure Synapse Analytics and Data Factory, and a business reporting platform will be created through Power BI. All processes will need to be documented.

Applicants must haves:• Strong knowledge of SQL database and Microsoft Azure platform;• Data warehouse and enterprise dimensional data modelling experience e.g., Star schema;• Solid experience in developing complex ETLs based with Synapse Analytics;• Knowledgeable with configuring Azure Cloud Resources and services;• Experience in working with Azure Data Lake;• Experience in developing and maintaining pipelines with Azure Data Factory;• Experience in designing and implementing MS SSAS solutions i.e., tabular;• Experience in BI tools i.e. MS Power BI;• Strong understanding of Azure DevOps or other version control systems;• Excellent communication skills;• Experience with Agile ways of working;• Tertiary qualification is desirable (e.g., TOGA).
