Job Description:Spruce InfoTech, Inc. is seeking an experienced AS400 Developer to join our team on a long-term contract-to-hire basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancements and support activities within the AS400 environment. This role requires close collaboration with the client’s team to ensure smooth operations and the timely resolution of any issues, ensuring no escalations from the client.

Key Responsibilities:AS400 Development:Develop and enhance applications on the AS400 platform.Provide support and maintenance for existing AS400 applications.Client Collaboration:Work closely with the client’s team members to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.Maintain clear and proactive communication with the client to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.Issue Resolution:Identify and troubleshoot issues within the AS400 environment.Implement fixes and improvements to prevent recurrence of issues.Documentation:Document enhancements and support activities for future reference and knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Qualifications:Technical Skills:5+ years of hands-on experience in AS400 development and support.Strong understanding of the AS400 architecture and tools.Soft Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working closely with clients in a support role.Experience managing and preventing client escalation.
