Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe and .NET Software Developer to support the Commerce & Compliance Application Development (CCAD) team for ODOT. The selected candidate will contribute to various initiatives by leveraging expertise in both mainframe and .NET technologies. This role involves development, documentation, testing, and integration efforts to enhance and modernize existing systems while supporting new initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Develop software solutions in C# to support CCAD initiatives.Perform COBOL development for mainframe-related projects.Create and maintain JCL scripts for mainframe job processing.Develop and enhance CICS applications for the mainframe environment.Write code to access DB2 and SQL Server databases.Conduct reverse engineering on legacy systems to document current-state processes.Create both current-state and future-state process documentation.Utilize various information gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, facilitation, diagrams) to capture complex business and data requirements.Identify opportunities for improvement within existing systems and recommend solutions.Perform impact analysis, document findings, and present recommendations to stakeholders.Develop and manage functional specifications for data models, customizations, extracts, and reports.Create implementation documentation and support the deployment process.Develop and test design changes in asset management software; integrate enhancements into production environments.Plan and execute data cleanup activities.Prepare test data, create test plans and cases, and manage test activities; track test results.Support and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT).Collaborate with team members to achieve project milestones and deadlines.Build strong working relationships with both IT and business partners.Conduct remote training sessions for both business and technical users.Troubleshoot software issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.Required Skills and Experience:.NET Technologies: Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework.Mainframe Technologies: Extensive experience with COBOL, JCL, and CICS.Database Skills: Strong understanding of SQL and experience with both DB2 and SQL Server.Software Design Documentation: Ability to create detailed design documentation.Business Analysis: Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements.Testing & QA: Experience in test planning, execution, and tracking results.Preferred Skills:Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.Familiarity with data science tools, such as Python.Experience in automating processes and enhancing efficiency.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and practices.
