THE ROLEAs a Software Architect/Principal Developer, you will be instrumental in guiding our development team towards creating robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-impact products. Your role will encompass technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning to drive the team’s performance and achieve business goals.
Our core tech stack: .NET, React & AWSMultiple languages including C#, Javascript, TypescriptFrameworks such as Dotnet core, React, NodeJSAWSAdvanced practices such as Continuous Delivery (CD), Infrastructure as code (IAC) and DevOps on a “always on” highly available scalable application platformAdvanced architectures such as Event Sourcing, distributed microservices, CQRS, Zero-downtime and Blue/Green Deployments
Key ResponsibilitiesOptimise the squad's work plan through collaborative research and experimentation, establish and validate measurable hypotheses for deliverables and collaborate with cross-functional team members for development insights, prioritising the delivery of quick, valuable solutions to PageUp group customers.Maintain and improve team capabilities' operational health and ensure availability, manage support tickets, complete security patching, conduct DR testing, and address critical improvements.Contribute to new platform capabilities and align squad outcomes with platform architecture and deliver significant platform-level outcomes annually and knowledge sharing. You will adhere to design practices, introducing new capabilities with minimal environmental impact.Define investment sizes and timelines for outcomes and collaborate with wider product teams to establish milestones and deliver Epics on schedule.Coach, mentor, and train to build a high-performing team whilst fostering a safe and enjoyable environment with open feedback.Support team development, maintain high engagement scores, provide training, and document career plans.Optimise costs in IaC processes and product outcomes. You till include cost predictions in design, eliminate wasted costs, right-size infrastructure, and use cost reduction tools and validate optimisations with senior technical leaders and AWS Enterprise support.Embed quality security practices within the team culture and ensure adherence to ISO standards to reduce PageUp’s risk score. You will guide secure coding practices, use security tools, and promptly address security risks with ISGC.Improve code health and quality, enhance code reuse, and maintain test coverage for reliable continuous delivery and reduce operational effort for system maintenance. You will also ensure consistent and communicable code, adhering to SOLID principles, and design easily adoptable solutions.
ABOUT YOUProven experience in technical leadership roles.Strong background in software development and architecture.Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS).Excellent understanding of security standards and practices.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Experience with agile development methodologies.Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
