A Little About The Role
As a mobile Engineer on our team, you will help build and maintain our highly rated and well-loved mobile applications. We have built a solution which enables childcare organizations to manage their business efficiently and intuitively, so they can focus on the children. The demands for these organizations are high and you will play a part in helping our customers easily manage their growing business complexity by making their daily demands simple to navigate. This includes features to enable communication with teachers and parents; tracking and recording daily activities for children, staff sign-ins, and parent payments to name a few.
You will be a key member of our engineering team while we expand on and refactor existing features and deliver new functionality. Our fast-paced, agile environment uses modern technologies where you will help optimize our code for scalability, stability, and performance. We value self-starters with the ability to communicate ideas effectively and contribute to our culture of respect, dedication, and fun. Clean code, principles over dogma, and balancing the pull between practical vs perfect solutions round out the qualities we seek and value.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with stakeholders across Design, Product Management, and EngineeringWrite maintainable code while iterating and shipping rapidlyEnsure appropriate automated test coverage for optimal product reliability and release velocityEnsure the app runs efficiently and intuitively regardless of the mobile device and form factorMake sure the visual design is meticulously up to specRecommend solutions that leverage platform specific offerings for the best native app experienceRefactor existing code to improve code maintainability and efficiencyContribute to improving development, Agile, and CI delivery best practicesPresent new ideas and respectfully debate those ideas with the team
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
4+ years' of experience building mobile appsBachelors of Science in Computer Science or related fieldProficient in Swift and XCodeProficient in Java and GradleKnowledge of Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React and TypescriptAdvanced knowledge of mobile development environmentUnderstanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelinesSignificant knowledge of mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practicesExperience integrating with RESTful APIs to connect mobile applications to back-end servicesSkilled in object-oriented programming design and developmentFamiliar with architecture patterns such as VIPER, MVP, MVVM, and/or MVCSolid experience in writing unit testsExperience with Git source controlCommunication and interpersonal skillsExperience with Agile processes in a structured setting (Scrum and/or Kanban)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary
$90,000-$120,000/year DOE

We are currently in a hybrid in-office/remote working model based on business needs.
