Web Developer Intern

We’re looking for a skilled Web Developer Intern to join our team of innovative designers who will be consistently raising the bar on creativity and user experiences. The ideal candidate needs to be a talented artist with extensive technical expertise who can work independently as well as alongside a team in creating, maintaining, and updating websites for clients in a variety of industries. Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web services and program applications is essential to succeeding in this role. The Web Developer Intern will have an immediate effect on our brand and that of our clients and an ongoing impact in solidifying our industry-wide reputation for stellar design.

Objectives of this Role:Consistently create well-designed, tested code using best practices for website development, including mobile and responsive site designCreate websites and user interfaces, using standard HTML/CSS practices, while incorporating back-end databases and services data, including payment gateways, APIs, etc.Create and maintain workflows with teams to provide visibility and to ensure workload balance for consistent visual designsDevelop or validate testing schedules, addressing all browsers and devices to ensure various computers can access contentMaintain updated knowledge of new and emerging industry trends and technology

Skills and Qualifications:General experience building, launching, and maintaining stores, as well as general knowledge of the admin systemDemonstrable expertise with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScriptExperience with working with a made theme and/or Storefront APIExperience with Shopify's theming system and Liquid templatingExperience with implementing/debugging 3rd party Shopify apps as well as creating custom solutions if necessaryExperience with Shopify's object/properties, AJAX API, and Meta fieldsThorough testing and debugging skills with browser console and external toolsExperience developing responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobileExperience working with 3rd party services and APIs, specific plugins for ShopifyAbility to optimize website speed on Shopify & WordPress platformsGood organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:Proven success in a project coordination roleExperience implementing and using modern web development workflows and operations using a variety of tools including GitHub
