Wordpress Developer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of WordPress websites, ensuring they are visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for performance.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the WordPress Developer will manage content creation workflows, including proofreading, scheduling, publishing, and editing content such as blog posts, articles, pricing updates, terms of service (TOS), policies, and more. This role involves working closely with the Art Director to align on design elements and collaborating with the content team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of materials.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Layout:

Customize WordPress themes using CSS, HTML, and popular layout builders (e.g., Elementor, Divi, WPBakery) to create responsive and visually appealing layouts.Develop and organize website pages, posts, categories, and tags, ensuring a consistent and professional appearance.Collaborate with the Art Director on color schemes, typography, and design aesthetics that align with brand guidelines.

Content Management:Proofread, schedule, and publish content, including blog posts, articles, pricing updates, terms of service, policies, and other website materials.Edit and update content as needed, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and proper formatting.Moderate and manage user-generated content, including comments and forums, to maintain a positive and professional website environment.

Site Management:

Organize website content, categories, and tags for easy navigation and SEO optimization.Administer WordPress plugins, ensuring compatibility, security, and updates.Develop and manage forms for lead generation, contact submissions, and other interactive elements.Ensure regular updates and maintenance of the website to enhance security and performance.

SEO & Analytics:

Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings, optimize content, and manage meta descriptions.Use SEO tools and plugins (e.g., Yoast SEO) to enhance the site’s visibility and keyword effectiveness.Monitor site performance and user behavior using Google Analytics and other tools, providing regular reports on site traffic and content engagement.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with the Art Director and marketing team to integrate design inspiration, advertising strategies, and branding into the website’s layout and content.Coordinate with content creators and marketing teams to ensure timely publication and content updates.Provide support and troubleshooting for website-related issues, responding promptly to fix bugs and manage updates.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a WordPress Developer with a strong portfolio showcasing web design, development, and content management skills.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and WordPress theme customization.Experience with layout builders such as Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery.Strong proofreading and editing skills with attention to detail.Familiarity with content scheduling and publishing tools within WordPress.Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.Proficiency with Google Analytics and reporting site metrics.Experience managing and updating plugins for functionality and security.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with basic JavaScript and PHP for advanced WordPress customization.Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).Knowledge of website optimization and performance improvement techniques.Experience with content moderation and user management.
