Position SummaryOur client, who is in the higher education space, is seeking an Integrations Developer to join their Enterprise Integration Services team within their Business Intelligence and Data Integrations unit. This person will be a key team player responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom API solutions, emphasizing web development, API platform management, and seamless integration. In this role, you’ll focus on improving capability around real-time integrations. The ideal candidate will contribute to the organization's objectives, demonstrating analytical thinking, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to mentor when required.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, document, and support custom API solutions, managing API platforms and integrating diverse systems within the organization.Participate in general software development projects, collaborating with teams and tackling assignments independently.Leverage your analytical skills to identify requirements, translate them into actionable plans, and solve complex problems with minimal supervision.Champion technical expertise, translating general architectural specifications into concrete solutions.Make day-to-day decisions that ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.Contribute to data security and system availability, recommending solutions and collaborating with Enterprise Application Integration management.Diagnose and resolve production system failures, determining appropriate corrective actions and resource allocation.Specify appropriate technology (hardware & software) for project implementation.Collaborate with vendors and peer institutions on system modifications and problem resolution.Support the Enterprise Scheduling Application through monitoring, maintenance, development, and analysis of batch process flows.Conduct thorough requirements analysis, ensuring accurate documentation and understanding of potential conflicts between stated needs and implementation challenges.Utilize the department's software change control and project management processes, effectively tracking tasks and work hours.Actively participate in assigned teams and cross-functional groups, fostering communication and supporting team members.
Minimum ExperienceBachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related)5+ years of application development experience with object-oriented programming languages5+ years of experience with enterprise-level DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)Proficiency in web technologies (HTML, JSON, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js)Experience with Visual Studio or other IDE platformsAPI development and usage expertise (REST, SOAP, GraphQL)Understanding of DevOps methodologies and tools (Ansible, GitLab, Jenkins)Message queue technologies knowledge (RabbitMQ, JMS, Kafka)Linux, shell scripting, Perl, Python experienceFamiliarity with iPaaS/low-code platforms (Boomi, MuleSoft)Prior experience with software change management and production turnover processesExperience with Enterprise Systems development (Ellucian Banner, Kuali Financial Management, etc.)Prior IT experience in Higher Education preferredUnderstanding of project management concepts (waterfall & agile)
Salary $48.00- $55.00 / hour
