Sr. Engineer/Developer (Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, RDMS REQUIRED)

Job: Senior Engineer/DeveloperContractLocation: Remote, USAProject involved working on a set of apps related to workforce management (hiring, time entry, reporting).You will be responsible for a series of apps, micro-services, and hosting infrastructure. The core of it is a webapp that uses Ruby on Rails for the backend and React for the frontend. There are also various ETLs that feed into it, written in ScalaProficient at designing solutions and executing delivery with a team through an Agile/Scrum processExperience building and managing delivery pipelines and coordinating production release schedulesEfficient at problem solving, triaging and managing resolution of issues Knowledge of software architecture principles related to API design, systems integration, micro-servicesDemonstrated interest and proficiency in learning new technologies. Ability to assess benefits and risks in new technology adoptionRequired Technical skills: - ReactJS - Ruby on Rails - RDMS, particularly Postgres - Kafka - AWS including ECS Fargate, RDS, Cloudfront, EC2, Lambda, Cloudwatch -Scala Nice to have include skills include: - Python - serverless framework - Terraform - DynamoDBTechnical Summary:Infrastructure: - AWS and uses: ECS/Fargate, RDS, Aurora, Route53, VPC, ALB, MSK - built and managed using Terraform/Ansible - CI/CD uses CircleCi / AWS CodeBuild - most things run in docker containers BackEnd / MicroServices: - Ruby on Rails - Scala - SQL (Postgresql) - Python/other Front End: - React
