We are looking for a motivated Trainee Android Developer to join our team at Soramitsu, where you'll help develop a state-of-the-art cryptocurrency wallet. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced developers, gaining hands-on experience in creating secure, user-friendly mobile applications in the blockchain space. The internship program is designed to provide you with the following skills:
Developing and implementing native Android applications using Kotlin programming language, including familiarity with the most common Kotlin data types, control flow statements, and object-oriented programming concepts.Familiarity with Android development frameworks such as Jetpack, ViewModel, LiveData, Room, and Navigation, and the ability to leverage these frameworks to create efficient, responsive, and visually appealing user interfaces.Experience with Android development tools such as Android Studio, and Android Debug Bridge (ADB), and the ability to use these tools to efficiently create, test, and debug Android applications.Understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns, including Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM), MVP, dependency injection (e.g., Dagger or Hilt), and observer pattern.Familiarity with asynchronous programming concepts such as coroutines, threads, and the ability to use these concepts to create responsive and efficient Android applications.Understanding of RESTful APIs and the ability to integrate Android applications with back-end APIs using popular networking libraries such as Retrofit or OkHttp.Knowledge of data storage techniques such as SQLite databases and Room, and the ability to store and retrieve data from these sources in Android applications.Familiarity with common Android development paradigms such as test-driven development (TDD), agile development, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).Understanding of the latest Android development trends, including Jetpack Compose and Material DesignCollaborating effectively with team members, including testers and designers.
Requirements:
Completed a course in mobile development or possess equivalent knowledge.Strong technical foundation with an understanding of SOLID principles and object-oriented programming.Previous experience or strong interest in Android mobile development.Familiarity with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.Experience working with Git and version control.Self-motivated and committed to continuous learning and self-improvement.Ability to read and comprehend technical papers and follow technical conferences in English, such as Google I/O.Open to receiving and acting on constructive feedback.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is a plus.It’s a plus if you have a pet project on GitHub that showcases your skills.
This is a remote position. Our distributed team is mostly spread across Europe and Asia. Team meetings are held generally during European working hours, and it is expected that you would adapt if necessary and be available accordingly.
