Senior Python Developer (4+ yrs Exp)

ResponsibilitiesImplement, integrate and test reliability improvements in backend systems, focusing on telemetry access improvementsImplement changes to DataDog setup and configuration to improve trace retention through application changes and partnerships with our DevOps teamImplement changes to Sentry setup and configuration to improve error tracking through application changes and partnerships with our DevOps teamCreate guides for teams to improve various aspects of local team Observability practices and processesInvestigate and implement automated telemetry capture methodologies for backend Python applications to reduce manual effort and enhance telemetry quality Professional Experience and Technical Skills: 4+ years of experience with Python, and its advanced features (e.g. metaclasses, decorators, inspect library) and bootstrapping Python projects (e.g. Circle CI setup, linting configuration, Docker configuration, etc…)3+ years of experience responding to and investigating incidents in production and monitoring systems in DataDog and investigating incidents in SentryExperience with Terraform is a plusExperience with advanced language features in Typescript is a plusOptional: Designing and tweaking SLOsExperience working as a formal SRE >2 years would be awesome, but not mandatory*Experience and expertise in python, production support and observability experience is must have, others are nice to have. Soft Skills:● Excellent time management and ownership● Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.● Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical information.
