Job DescriptionJob Summary: The Google Looker Developer will design, build, and own the overall process of developing new Looker dashboards. The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of LookML, including the ability to create and maintain coding standards and style guides for LookML development. This role will be responsible for creating healthcare-related reports and data, so experience with healthcare data is a plus.. Essential Job Functions: Develop Looker models and maintain LookML codeDesign, build, and own the process of developing new Looker dashboardsDevelop, maintain and enforce coding standards and style guides for LookML developmentWork collaboratively with the healthcare data and analytics team to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problemsCreate and maintain documentation related to Looker development processes and proceduresProvide training and support to end-users of Looker dashboardsWork on a team using Agile Scrum methodology to deliver new reports and dashboards to stakeholders on a regular basisHave a proven ability to work in a rapid development environment with a strong emphasis on quality and delivery.Other duties and/or projects as assigned.Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other relevant area of study.5+ years of experience as a Looker DeveloperExpert knowledge of LookML, including the ability to create and maintain coding standards and style guides for LookML developmentExperience with ETL tools such as Fivetran, Stitch, or TalendExperience with cloud-based data warehouses such as Google BigQuery, Amazon Redshift, or SnowflakeExperience working with healthcare data is a plusStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and collaboration skillsFamiliarity with Agile Scrum methodology and experience working on a team using this methodologyProven ability to work in a rapid development environment with a strong emphasis on quality and delivery.Proficient in SQL and able to write complex queries to retrieve and manipulate data from a variety of data sourcesExperience with Git version controlFamiliarity with data visualization best practices and ability to develop compelling, effective dashboardsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Knowledge of Python or another scripting language
