The RoleWe're building our founding team and are looking for an intelligent, ambitious, and purposeful engineer to lead all development work.

You'd have the support of a junior engineer who is smart, determined but needs mentorship and coaching.

Who You Are:You have a drive to build products that improve people's lives.You question "why" and critique constructively.You're laser-focused.You're product-minded AND commercial. You care about the business.You have a high bar, know when to cut corners, and what can be polished later.You have grit and ambition; you're ready to try, fail, and iterate until we get it right.You have development experience or have worked as a software engineer (we've been building in React Native; you don't have to have worked with our stack, but you should have the mindset to learn quickly).You're enthusiastic and passionate about creating a great user experience.You can learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Salary & Commitment:This is an equity-only position split amongst the founding team. The founding team all have full-time jobs, and when the time is right, we'll leave those to work on Arou full-time. Building a successful consumer app is hard work. We work in some of the most fast-growing companies across Product, Operations and Design. We do this in our spare time and communicate clearly and often to ensure we're on track and hitting milestones.
