At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Senior Mobile Application Developer, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and testing Mobile Software in both native Android and iOS. The Senior Mobile Application Developer is a self-directed practiced developer that is comfortable working in an Agile environment that manages the needs of a variety of the Informed Delivery stakeholders, team members and contractors. Our work depends on a Senior Mobile Application Developer to work as a member of an Agile team to deliver USPS technical solutions.
HOW SENIOR MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Utilize an iterative development methodology and conduct appropriate Agile ceremonies for all work done under this contract. The methodology shall allow users to examine the validity and accuracy of the business requirements and to respond to the usability and performance of new developments.User testing and acceptance throughout the development cycle will detect usability issues, missing requirements, and any necessary design changes early in the process, allowing them to be put in place immediately.Identify risks associated with the development of software efforts, including impacted systems, analysis and classification of risk, and techniques to mitigate.Conduct feasibility/cost-benefit studies, requirements analysis, and life cycle activities included in; the design phase, object-oriented technology, development, implementation, and documentation, for the development and maintenance of systems for long-term use.Collect, develop, and analyze software requirements user story writing workshops assuring acceptance criteria is defined.Consistently evaluate application design and implementation in accordance with Lean process improvement methods and recommend mitigation.Formulate a business model identifying the proposed (to-be) business processes necessary to improve the efficiency and effectiveness for application(s), as necessary.Develop “use cases” and determine the prescribed set of “artifacts” for each phase of each development cycle.Develop java applications using a service-oriented architecture and web services where applicableDevelop software applications prototypes for USPS Program Manager Evaluations.Conduct usability analysis and assessmentsAdhere to 508 compliance regulations for all development effortsUtilize the Government provided 508 reporting tools to identify and mitigate 508 issuesDevelop, document, and adhere to effective and appropriate configuration management practices.Design systems using Agile framework or a framework similar as required by USPS.Participate in project design specifications and review specifications as needed by USPS governance committees or equivalent.Assist with the development of business needs statements, user stories, acceptance criteria, documentation. Provide feasibility and high-level business requirements analysis for related systems or requests and development cost estimates.Testing of any software and integration modules using standard USPS tools to ensure high quality software (including functional, technical test cases with negative use cases and performance scalability testing

Required Experience:
8+ years of related professional IT experienceMinimum 2+ years’ direct experience as Developer Mobile Native (Android and/or iOS) or in related fieldsMinimum 2+ years’ direct experience in mobile web development using Java
Technical Experience:
Demonstrated working knowledge in backend web services, API Integration, and Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCPDemonstrated experience with iOS: Fluent in the coding languages of Swift and Objective-CDemonstrated experience with Android: Fluent in the coding languages of Kotlin and JavaDemonstrated knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies and working in an agile environmentDemonstrated knowledge/experience of SDLC practicesDemonstrated knowledge/experience with Change Management and Configuration Management (such as ServiceNow, etc.)Work with outside data sources, APIs, bug fixing and improving app performance

Security Clearance Level:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprintingThis position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $107,406 - $145,314. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
