Junior Full Stack Developer

Boozy is looking for an experienced Shopify Theme Developer who possesses both frontend design skills and backend development expertise, particularly in GitHub and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be responsible for building and maintaining custom Shopify themes while handling backend integrations and cloud-based deployments. You will report directly to the Product Manager following a hybrid work setup.

In accepting this role, you will be expected to handle:

Custom Shopify Theme DevelopmentDesign and develop heavily customized Shopify themes from scratch or by modifying existing themes.Implement responsive design principles to ensure the store looks and performs well across all devices.

Backend Development & IntegrationDevelop and integrate custom backend functionalities using Shopify’s API, as well as third-party APIs.Manage code repositories in GitHub, including branching, merging, and pull requests.Deploy and manage backend services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring scalability and reliability.

Performance OptimizationOptimize the Shopify store for speed, performance, and SEO.Implement best practices for caching, asset optimization, and database management.

Version Control & CI/CDSet up and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.Ensure version control best practices are followed, maintaining code quality and consistency across all projects.

Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with designers, product managers, content creators, and marketing teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.

Support & MaintenanceTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring the store operates smoothly.Implement updates and new features based on evolving business needs and feedback.

Basic qualifications include, but are not limited to:

At least 3 years of experience in Shopify theme development with a focus on both frontend and backend capabilities.Knowledgeable in Shopify's Liquid templating language.Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.Strong backend development skills, including API integration and server-side scripting.Experience with GitHub for version control and CI/CD pipelines.Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including cloud storage, functions, and computing services.Strong understanding of responsive design and user experience best practices.

Nice-to-haves:Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue.js).Experience with automated testing frameworks.Familiarity with other cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure).Experience with serverless architecture and microservices.Willingness to learn how to develop and maintain a Shopify store.
