Job Summary: The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for programming and testing solutions to generate high quality reporting and workflow automation from clinical database sources. These tools typically involve oversight of data processing activities and management of medical imaging assessments that contribute to primary analyses for clinical trials research. The incumbent works under the guidance of senior members of the Clinical Data Management team to support all aspects of workflow monitoring, data reconciliation, quality control, edit checks development, data listings, visualizations, and metrics.
Key Responsibilities: Client Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements, particularly in the healthcare and clinical trials sector.Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain highly optimized and visually engaging dashboards to support decision-making.Data Modeling: Build effective data models that integrate various data sources (databases, APIs, etc.) into a coherent structure.Optimization: Ensure dashboards and queries are high-performing and optimized for fast retrieval of insights, especially when dealing with large datasets.Data Source Management: Integrate and manage data from diverse sources, including clinical trial databases, healthcare information systems (EHR, EMR), and other industry-specific platforms.Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and improve dashboard performance and data query efficiency.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, database administrators, and other developers to ensure the end-to-end quality of the solution.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of BI solutions, workflows, and processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications: SQL Mastery: Strong proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, including complex joins and aggregations.BI Tools Expertise: Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or Looker, Apache Superset.Healthcare Data Knowledge: Experience working with healthcare or clinical trial data, such as EHR, EMR, or clinical data management systems.Data Integration: Familiarity with integrating multiple data sources, including relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL databases, APIs, and cloud-based data warehouses (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).Data Visualization: Ability to create user-friendly, insightful, and visually compelling dashboards and reports.ETL Processes: Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of data from various sources to BI systems.Healthcare Compliance: Understanding of regulatory requirements like HIPAA and GCP (Good Clinical Practice) to ensure data security and compliance in healthcare and clinical trial domains.Language: Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.Cloud: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-based BI solutions
