Description of ServicesWe are seeking an experienced Applications Architect 1 to join our Project Management Centre of Excellence organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing applications using the Microsoft PowerApps platform. This role will focus on creating effective, efficient, accessible, and user-friendly solutions to improve business processes. The candidate will work on a variety of solutions, including document management systems, project management automated templates, project management dashboards, and IT intake workflows.
Core Responsibilities:Development: Design, develop, and test solutions using PowerApps.Documentation: Maintain detailed technical documentation and user guides.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions.Education: Transfer knowledge to staff for long-term maintenance of solutions.Expected Solutions:Document Management System: Develop a workflow management solution for document routing and review, integrating with SharePoint, Active Directory, Power Automate, and PowerBI.Project Management Automated Templates: Create an application to extract data from project management systems and populate templates in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Project Management Dashboard: Develop a dashboard for IT portfolios providing insights on objectives, resources, risks, issues, and progress reports.IT Intake Workflow: Replace email processing of intakes with an automated solution to classify and route proposals.
Iterative Tasks and Expectations:Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps and clear requirements in business processes.Scoping: Develop a detailed scope statement with measurable objectives and key results.Design & Develop: Translate requirements into working code, integrating with PowerApps, Power Automate, PowerBI, Active Directory, and SharePoint.Testing: Create and execute test plans, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues.Deployment: Deploy and maintain applications across environments.Continuously Improve: Maintain and improve existing solutions by managing a backlog of defects and missed requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience: 3–5 years in software development with at least 2 years in PowerApps development.Technical Skills: Proficiency in PowerApps, Power Automate, Microsoft 365, SharePoint; knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS; familiarity with Azure.Soft Skills: Goal setting, initiative, adaptability, creativity, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience: 2+ years with Microsoft PowerApps (certification preferred), 6+ years with Agile/Scrum methodologies, 5+ years integrating Microsoft products, 5+ years with REST/SOAP APIs, 5+ years with SQL or PL/SQL.Technical Skills: Microsoft PL certification, experience with Application UI/UX, familiarity with APIs and data querying, experience using Power BI for data visualization.
