Python Developer – Security Development Exp Must (Part-Time)

Job Overview:

We are seeking talented part-time Python Developers to contribute to the development of our next-generation Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) system using osquery. This role is ideal for professionals looking to apply their skills in backend development, data processing, and cybersecurity within a flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend Development: Assist in designing and implementing backend components of the EDR system using Python, focusing on efficient data handling and integration.osquery Integration: Customize and extend osquery capabilities using Python scripts to enhance data collection and threat detection features.API Creation: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for integration with external tools, ensuring secure and reliable data exchange.Automation and Scripting: Create automation scripts for data processing, alert management, and other repetitive tasks to improve system efficiency.Database Management: Work with SQL/NoSQL databases to manage large-scale security data, optimizing for performance and scalability.Testing and Debugging: Participate in testing, debugging, and refining code to ensure the EDR system's reliability and security.Documentation: Contribute to technical documentation, including code documentation, API specifications, and usage guides.Collaboration: Engage with the core development team and other part-time resources to ensure cohesive integration and alignment of development efforts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in Python: Strong Python programming skills, particularly in backend development and scripting.Experience with osquery: Familiarity with osquery for endpoint data collection and integration into security frameworks.API Development: Experience with building RESTful APIs and working with data formats such as JSON.Database Knowledge: Competence in working with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.Cybersecurity Insight: Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including threat detection and response.Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem resolution.Communication Skills: Ability to document work clearly and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
