Nature and Scope of Job
USDM is seeking an experienced Senior Spotfire Developer to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities
The Senior Spotfire Developer will be responsible for creating fit-for-purpose validated analyses, visual data displays, developing open-source technology, collaborating with other industry experts in developing standards and creating dashboards from diverse data types to aid in internal data consumption and decision-making. The Senior Spotfire Developer is an experienced technical role that will use fit-for-purpose technology (Spotfire, R/Rshiny, SAS, etc) for the development and execution of historical and real time analytics. This position will participate in regular interactions with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization. Demonstrated abilities to prioritize work; to understand internal business data and decision-making needs; and to communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders both within Quality Control and Operations overall are essential along with the ability to interact with other industry experts in the development of standards. Generate validated, reproducible, visualizations and analysis using open-source software packages or tools (e.g., R/R-Shiny, Spotfire) for the purpose of internal data review, go/no-go decision-making and internal publications or data releases. Standardize and internalize current Spotfire and other Dashboards to provide semi-automation to full automation where appropriate. Develop and implement programming in existing analytical pipelines and new pipelines including automation of standards. Contribute to the strategy and implementation of the development of validated Spotfire environment, real-time analytical GUIs/Dashboards and over-all best Spotfire practices. Explore other open-source Data Science languages such as Python in fit-for-use analytical environment. Create, augment, or modify current reporting to accommodate specific needs and requests, including means of tracking data quality, completeness and trends. Serve as a point of contact to support cross-functional stakeholders and deliver data-driven solutions, including clarifying requirements, prototyping solutions, and delivering production dashboards/analytics. Mentor team members, as required. Participate in building and maintaining data pipelines to automate data processing tasks. Administer and maintain user access to data reporting. Create integrated data analyses pooling data across various relevant data sources to meet business needs as appropriate. Generate strategic business insights to support business development and corporate strategy.
Qualifications
Minimum 8+ years of reporting development experience, biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience preferred. Minimum 4+ years of advanced Spotfire specific development experience in a validated environment required. DataBricks and GitLab experience strongly preferred. Programming experience in R, SAS, or Python and SQL working with large integrated datasets. Familiarity with reproducibility and traceability. Knowledge of GxP data standards and associated requirements of working in validated environments. Experience working across business functions and all levels of the organization to translate user requirements into data-driven insights. Experience in a principal role and/or mentoring junior team members.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a data science field, e.g., statistics, mathematics, computer science, bioinformatics, or another field with commensurate levels of experience (extensive relevant experience exceeding requirements above will be considered in lieu of a degree).

Compensation
W2 candidates only.
Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 50.00 – 58.00
The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM’s compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.
Full-time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.
Both full and part-time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part-time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
