Senior API Developer - Remote (WFH)

Cognitive is seeking a Senior API Developer with advanced knowledge and expertise in applications programming methodologies and disciplines. We are looking for someone who has expert-level knowledge of system analysis and business problem-solving, is proficient with business reporting, and has advanced knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) in Microsoft SQL and Oracle environments, as well as knowledge of cloud technologies.

Duties Include:

Design, develop, and maintain APIs that meet high-performance and scalability requirementsExperience in developing REST API servicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define API specificationsOptimize API performance, security, and reliabilityTroubleshoot and debug API issuesAbility to decrypt JSON, XML structured data into normalize data setsCreating high-availability applicationsWrites clean, efficient, and well documented code that adheres to software development standards and best practicesParticipates in software design and architecture discussions to ensure the software meets the functional and non-functional requirementsCollaborates with other developers, testers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of software features and bug fixesPerforms code reviews and provides construction feedback to other team membersContinuously learns and stays up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to C#/.NET development

Required Skills:

Proven experience in API development, including REST and SOAP Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in API development in C#/.NET Knowledge of database systems and data modeling Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt to new technologies and frameworks quicklyProficiency in version control systems, especially GitExperience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like JenkinsKnowledge of Azure API development and integrationExperience working in Microsoft API web services or equivalent

Technical Skills: C#/.NET; Oracle SQL (SQL Developer); MS SQL; Batch, Rest Micro-services, Test Framework; SOAP and Rest architecture

Required Education, Experience, and Clearance:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree5 years or more related experienceAbility to obtain a Position of Public Trust - Medium Background Investigation (MBI)US Citizenship is required

Nice to Have:

3+ years experience supporting healthcare applications Experience in Agile methodologies
