Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Junior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Viderity, supporting the National Science Foundation. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technology and eager to contribute to significant projects in the field of science and research. As a Junior Backend Developer, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment where innovation and knowledge sharing are valued. As a Junior Backend Developer you will have the following roles and responsibilities: Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements.Follows approved Agile life cycle methodologies, creates design documents & performs program coding.Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.Interprets data, analyzes results, and provides ongoing reports.Acquires data from primary or secondary data sources.Identifies, analyzes, and interprets data sets and document recommendations.

Required Skills: Strong knowledge of Core Java. Experience with Spring or other MVC frameworkExperience with web services (RESTful, SOAP)Knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, and experience with common JavaScript frameworks (Ember, Angular)Experience with writing basic SQL queries in Sybase, OracleExperience with databases including Stored Procedures, DML and DDL tasksExperience with source control management (SVN, Git)Experience with build automation (Jenkins, Hudson)

Preferred Skills: Experience with Apache Tomcat or any other application servers is desirableExperience working with in an Agile development environmentExperience with JIRAExcellent communication and teamwork skills

Salary Range: $62,000-73,500 per year
