Our work depends on a Senior Software Developer joining our team to assist the Office of Medicare Hearings and Appeals (OMHA) in managing its appeals workloads.

HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Play a critical role in the development and maintenance of applications that facilitate efficient and user-friendly interactions with the system’s public portal.Manage expectations and address concerns proactively. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy software applications that meet project requirements and standards.Proactively monitor and maintain the system’s public portal, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.Troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring a seamless user experience.Create and maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation for developed applications, APIs, and processes.Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and knowledge sharing among team members.Work closely with software architects, developers, quality assurance, and project managers to achieve project objectives.Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to propose enhancements and improvements to existing systems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
3 plus years’ proven experience as a software engineer or application developer, with a focus on web-based applications.Bachelor of Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong understanding of low code application tools, software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.Expertise in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript frameworks, SQL, Rest APIs, and CI/CD technologies.Experience with web development frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js).Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).Familiarity with relational databases, data modeling, and data migration techniques.Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.Understanding of data integrity, data privacy, and compliance.Understanding the current COTS platform’s architecture, technologies, and dependencies. Ability to work in an agile development environment.Ability to develop and support Client/Server as well as web applications.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience with Tyler Application Platform (formerly Entellitrak).Expertise with Agile methodologies and project management tools.2-3 years’ experience with AWS cloud platform and services, and cloud integration management.Knowledge of software security best practices.Previous experience in government projects or the healthcare industry.Unit testing tools and methodologies such as JUnit and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
SECURITY CLEARANCE LEVEL:
Ability to pass HHS and company background check to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
